Expertise – Our extensive knowledge of support offered by the Government and other organisations can help you take advantage of grants, loans and other financial assistance you are entitled to Energy Surveys and AuditsTEAM Energy Consultants carry out a variety of surveys free of charge to you on behalf of the Carbon Trust. We can also undertake your annual energy consumption audit. Our Energy Consultants can offer an independent survey for those organisations not eligible for a Carbon Trust survey or require a more detailed audit, which may include water. In addition, all our survey reports include capital cost and payback periods, an analysis of all utility data and a range of pictorial records. Display Energy CertificatesPublic sector organisations with buildings exceeding 1000m2 are required to produce a Display Energy Certificate (DEC) by April 2008. The EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive states that if an eligible public sector building fails to display a valid DEC by this date the organisation with be charged £500. In addition, there is a £1000 charge for not including a valid advisory report of recommended energy saving measures. TEAM's Energy Consultancy service can assist with collating details of building characteristics and your energy consumption data, producing the DEC and registering it on the DCLG (Department of Communities and Local Government) database. Flexible Energy ManagersNot all organisations are in a position to appoint, or require, a full-time Energy Manager. TEAM offers a Flexible Energy Manager to suit your needs. Staff Awareness TrainingThe Carbon Trust suggests that 5% energy savings may be possible through raising staff awareness. We have packages that can be customised to meet your requirements. These include seminars, workshops, campaigns and arranging web presence to improve staff awareness and develop good housekeeping practices in the workplace. Feasibility Studies and Project Management We can provide you with a Project Management service to assist with implementing a range of energy saving measures, including those recommended by your energy survey. In some cases Project Management could be offered free of charge to you on behalf of the Carbon Trust via their Implementation Services module. Prior to any capital expenditure we can undertake a feasibility study to help decide which options provide the most cost-effective solution. These can include lighting controls, CHP, boiler replacements and BMS (Building Management System). Legislation and Operational Rating CertificatesOur Energy Consultants are accredited under the Low Carbon Consultants programme managed by CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers) and can ensure you meet legislative requirements, such as Building Regulations (Part L) and the EPBD (EU Energy Performance Buildings Directive). We can help provide you with the operational ratings required to produce an Energy Performance Certificate. Energy ProcurementOur Energy Consultants can secure the most competitive terms and conditions for your utility supplies. Our level of involvement is at your discretion and can involve the appointment of the supplier and post-tender negotiations. Energy Policy and StrategyWe can work with you to develop and write your energy policy and strategy. This includes the formulation of clear procedures to help deliver an approved energy policy, without compromising operational commitments. We will identify areas for improvement, set SMART targets, introduce a forum to co-ordinate the energy strategy and provide access to resources to secure finance. Monitoring and TargetingOur Energy Consultants can introduce a comprehensive energy management system to assist you to measure your energy consumption. We will analyse your bill processing procedures to help deliver an increased level of control. Advice may include metering ad sub-metering options, selection of communications technology and a review of bill processing procedures. Carbon TradingWhether you are thinking of joining or are already in an Emissions Trading Scheme we can support you in achieving your agreed carbon savings target. We also provide advice on the sale or purchase of carbon credits.
