Display Energy Certificates 

From 1st October 2008, public sector occupiers of buildings with a total floor area of >1000m2 will be required by law to display a valid Display Energy Certificate (DEC).

This means action needs to be taken now to ensure the entire process of producing DECs and Advisory Reports is completed for all relevant buildings in time. This includes collating the annual energy consumption data, processing it, producing Advisory Reports, printing DECs and physically displaying them in the building.  Anyone failing to do this faces a fine of £1500 per building.

HOW TEAM CAN HELP YOU

As soon as the legislation has been finalised and our software accredited, TEAM will be able to support you with the production of Display Energy Certificates and Advisory Reports in the following ways:

M&T Software with DEC Module

Working within the TEAM Sigma Software the TEAM DEC and Advisory Report module will provide an efficient means of producing DECs and Advisory Reports.  A simple step-based approach makes it easy to use and navigate. The TEAM DEC module will be able to access information contained in the main database of the Sigma software and uses templates to help create a multiple number of DECs. This avoids duplication of data entry, saving time and cost, particularly if you have numerous buildings. Various in-built checks and prompts highlight where information is missing or incomplete ensuring that all relevant details are available to produce the DECs and Advisory Reports.

Accredited Assessor Training

TEAM will be providing Accredited Assessor Training for TEAM Software, which will allow you to produce your own DECs and Advisory Reports inhouse.  Courses will run over two days and be followed by a formal exam.  Course dates and venues will be finalised shortly.  Please keep visiting the website for latest details or complete our DEC information request form.

DEC and Advisory Report Service 

This is an outsourced service where TEAM's Accredited Assessors will carry out the work on your behalf, provide you with the completed A3-sized DEC and Advisory Report and record all DECs on the Central Register. In order to do this we will assess your estate, determine how many buildings would be covered by the legislation, advise on what information will be required and work with you to complete the exercise.  This option is ideal for organisations with limited time or resource.
