Public sector occupiers of buildings with a total floor area of <1000m2 and visited frequently by a large number of people are required by law to display a valid Display Energy Certificate (DEC).
This means collating the annual energy consumption data, processing it, producing Advisory Reports, printing DECs and physically displaying them in the building. Anyone failing to do this may face a fine of £1500 per building.
To comply with Government legislation, Display Energy Certificates (DECs) must be renewed each year and Advisory Reports every 7 years.
