“No Savings, No Fee” Utility Bill Checking Service

Did you know that your organisation could make considerable savings on energy costs without initial outlay or risk?

How does this service work?

We ask you for the last 12 months of utility bills, which the TEAM Bureau then validate using our software designed to identify billing errors for query. We inform you of any discrepancies we find, and then we query these with your utility suppliers on your behalf until resolution. Wherever possible, overpayments are reclaimed from your utility suppliers. TEAM carries out this service at its own expense on the basis that any monies reclaimed are shared between you and TEAM.

Which bills do we check?

We can check all of your electricity, gas and water bills and, where applicable, cost recoveries can be made from the previous 7 years.

What are savings likely to be?

A recent survey of over 190,000 utility bills carried out by TEAM Bureau across a wide range of customers, has shown that on average recoveries of 3.5% of energy spend can be achieved simply by checking that bills are correct and reclaiming any overcharges. This means that an organisation such as a Local Authority with an energy spend of about £10.5 million could expect cost recoveries of around £414,700 per year. However, savings depend on each individual organisation’s circumstances and are not guaranteed.

Are there any other benefits?

Your in-house administration costs are reduced by outsourcing bill processing and checking. The London Energy Project estimates that processing costs can
be as much as £8.15 per utility bill in some cases. In today’s tougher economic climate, savings like this can a real difference to your organisation’s bottom line.

How will I know how much you are saving for me?

We provide you with online access to reports that analyse the savings made to date. Savings usually result in a credit note or cheque from the utility supplier.

What if no savings are achieved?

Our experience shows that we can save on average 6% on gas, 4.1% on water and around 2.8% on electricity.

In the unlikely event we are unable to recover any monetary savings, you will not incur any costs!

Will I lose visibility of my bills?

In the majority of circumstances, you will retain full visibility of your bills but this will depend on your supplier. We do provide you with online access to the invoices we have processed for you and can provide paper copies of bills on your request.

How easy is it to sign up?

We provide you with a simple agreement to sign and we just require a letter of authority to enable TEAM to receive future utiilty bills from your suppliers in order to proceed. Public sector organisations can subscribe to this service through a pre-tendered Buying Solutions framework agreement.
