CRC (Carbon Reduction Commitment) Software
TEAM’s intuitive new CRC Software enables you to easily and quickly produce the Footprint and Annual Reports required for compliance with the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme.
It takes the hard work out of consolidating and quality checking your data, whilst a central database maintains all records for your CRC Evidence Pack. The software can be used as a standalone product alongside other M&T systems or fully integrated with the TEAM Sigma Software. A forecasting tool helps you manage the risk. It predicts how many Carbon Allowances need to be purchased to cover your emissions at the end of the year.
The CRC Software has easy to use set-up wizards to manage all supplies included in a CRC Phase.
For each round the system automatically selects the most accurate available data from the database. Data gaps are filled automatically by calculating consumption based on historical data using allowable estimation techniques. At a glance you can view all relevant information about each supply including identifier, fuel, supply type, profile class (for electricity supplies), consumption and CO2 emissions.
Data Validation
Data Validation
Data quality is crucial for CRC reporting and compliance. Supply types like AMR, half-hourly metered and others can easily be recorded. The CRC module has in-built data validation checks to:
-
Indicate where database fields are blank
-
Provide a rating of the data quality and type of data (billing, half hourly, self read or supplier statement)
-
Highlight where data fails preset validation checks
-
Exclude supplies from Residential, Transport and domestic accommodation sources
Source of supply information is selected following the rules set in the CRC Regulations and all actions carried out are fully auditable. Validators highlight when more than 10% of your total emissions are excluded and the system prevents you from excluding core emissions (i.e. from half hourly supplies) to ensure you comply with regulations.
Forecasting and Financial Risk
A forecasting tool in the software helps manage the financial risk associated with the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme and helps you estimate how many carbon allowances will need to be purchased at year end. In the CRC Software any number of forecasts can be applied to single or groups of supplies. Different forecasting methods are available, which can be combined to make up a single forecast for a supply:
-
Manual – The forecast energy consumption can be entered manually.
-
Previous Period – Forecast is based on the previous year's consumption, and changes can be applied from selected dates.
-
Profile – A profile editor allows you to shape the consumption profile.
Progress Tracking of Sites
Individual sites can be monitored during the year for emissions against target as well as potential excess or shortfall allowing an updated budget for costs down to site level.

Testimonials
Statement from Neil Burgess (Environment Agency)
“When preparing for the CRC Footprint and Annual reports it is vital to identify all the sources of energy use and assemble the records. To do this, it is important to allocate responsibility to members of staff with access to the records and who can collate the information in the format that CRC requires. An early start on preparation is recommended in order to meet the July deadline.”
John Lightowler, Energy Manager, University of Sunderland
“Here at Sunderland University we have already identified all our key energy sources using the TEAM M&T CRC module. We have also identified those responsible for developing the Footprint and Annual reports, so we are confident that we will be ready for July.”
