|Simon Miles, CEO at TEAM Energy|
Simon is the CEO of TEAM and is responsible for delivering the vision to help each of TEAM’s customers build a successful and optimised energy management service. Simon’s roles include strategic direction, commercial and financial management as well as leading the business on a day-to-day basis.
Simon graduated from Durham University with a first class degree in Physics and then completed a Doctorate in Semiconductor Physics sponsored by BT. He now has almost 30 years’ experience in the IT industry, specialising in the Energy, Utility and Financial Services sectors. Simon worked initially in the Technology Division for Accenture, where he advised blue-chip companies like British Gas and Cable and Wireless. He then joined the White Clarke Group as Manager of their software development division. As the founder of EDW Technology, through the delivery of software and energy expertise, Simon was instrumental in driving the success of its customers including Electricity Direct, electricity4business, SmartestEnergy and Haven Power.
|Rhiannon Marsh, Power Responsive Manager at National Grid|
As Power Responsive Manager within National Grid’s Electricity System Operator business, Rhiannon is responsible for driving forward Power Responsive – a stakeholder-led programme of work that seeks to increase participation in demand side flexibility services from load response, storage and distributed generation. This ranges from awareness raising across large energy users and new technologies, to supporting projects and trials with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) that will help to meet future electricity system needs and increase routes to market for smaller parties and emerging technologies in the energy industry.
|Sagnik Murthy, Business Development Manager for Battery Energy Storage Systems at ABB|
As Business Development Manager for Battery Energy Storage Systems at ABB, Sagnik is responsible for behind the meter applications within the commercial and industrial sectors.
Prior to ABB, he was Business Manager for UK and Ireland at Vestas for their onshore wind turbines business in the UK and Sales manager – Renewables at CG focussed on delivering grid electrical infrastructure for the offshore wind, onshore wind and solar markets in the UK.
Sagnik is a member of the IET, a professionally qualified engineer from NIT Trichy, India and an MBA from Thunderbird, USA, with over 20 years of international business development, commercial sales and product marketing experience in the UK and international markets.
He is deeply passionate about clean technologies and leaving a legacy for future generations where Mankind has settled on an environmentally sustainable way of managing its energy needs.
|Richard Hardy, Growth Strategy and Innovations Champion, KiWi Power|
Richard is the Growth Strategy and Innovations Champion at KiWi Power, a Leading Demand Response Aggregator in the UK. Having joined in 2016 he became the UK Programme Manager and responsible for optimising value to clients both in terms of the existing market and working with key stakeholders to build the future framework in which DSR can operate. Richard’s current role focuses on analysing the fast moving and increasingly complex market to establish where DSR will bring the most value in the future.
|Craig Mackellar, Vice President – European Accounts at Tradition Energy|
Craig is responsible for all of Tradition energy’s business development and customer relationships throughout the UK and continental Europe. He has worked for tradition for 2 years and in that time has increased Tradition’s presence in Europe to actively procuring for our clients in 15 countries and has set up a dedicated UK national office focusing on developing our presence specifically within the UK.
Prior to working with Tradition Energy, Craig has spent 23-year years within various roles in the Business to Business energy industry, including as Head of Sales at Scottish Power and has worked for some of the world’s largest energy consultancies focusing on helping major energy users make the very best decisions possible when it comes to energy procurement and risk management.

Shawn is Yellowfin’s General Manager in EMEA. Shawn joined Yellowfin from Galvanize, a tech learning community specialising in data science and cognitive solutions education. He previously held leadership positions at Avnet Inc. and Ascendant Technology and began his career in Canada as a technical consultant helping customers solve business challenges through technology solutions.
With over 20 years of experience in the software industry and a proven track record of rapidly growing technology companies, he has a history of driving customer success in global teams, and building healthy ecosystems of customers, suppliers and partners. Shawn currently assumes responsibility for continuing expansion of Yellowfin EMEA, at time when the region is growing at 40% YoY.

|Gary Shanahan, Head of Business and Industrial Energy Efficiency, Tax & Reporting at Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy|
As Head of Business and Industrial Energy Efficiency, Tax & Reporting at BEIS, Gary leads a team responsible for development of the new streamlined energy and carbon reporting framework and a number of business and industrial energy efficiency schemes, including CRC, the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), Industrial Heat Recovery Support and the Climate Change Agreements Scheme.
Gary is a chemistry graduate, having studied at the University of Salford and the Ecole Superieure de Chimie Industrielle de Lyon (France). His first position in Government was as a research scientist but following a secondment to the European Commission he moved into research programme management and technology transfer. Within BEIS, and its predecessors he has covered a number of areas relating to industry sponsorship and related policy. Gary has been extensively involved in policy development, strategy and programme delivery in the renewables and energy efficiency areas for over a decade.
|Susan Clarke, Principal Analyst at Verdantix|
Susan is a Principal Analyst at Verdantix, an independent research firm with a focus on innovative technologies to optimize business operations. Her research covers technology solutions for optimizing buildings including integrated workplace management systems (IWMS), energy management solutions and Internet-of-Things platforms. Her research is used by technology buyers and product executives to support them in their technology planning. In 2010 she graduated from the University of London with an MSc in Practising Sustainable Development.
|Kamar Zaman, Energy Manager at London Borough of Haringey and Hackney.|
Kamar has been the Energy Manager at London Borough of Haringey for 11 years and the Energy Manager at Hackney Council for 5 years. This is a Shared Service approach to Energy Management. In both he manages two distinct team’s portfolios and processes using TEAM Sigma Bureau services. This enables housing officers, schools, contractors and other services to access the Sigma database to extract the cost and consumption reports. At Haringey, he was the lead officer responsible for a Carbon Management Plan to reduce carbon emissions by 40% that was achieved in 2015 based on a 2008 baseline.
Before that, he worked at Bexley Council where he put together a Schools Meter Readings programme which integrated readings into Sigma, which was set up with targets and benchmarks.
Kamar has previously worked at TEAM Energy Limited as a Support Engineer and Bureau Service co-ordinator. He installed TEAM software and trained at different private and public sector organisations during his tenure. He successfully managed a web-based project to deliver a bill analysis service from half hour consumption data to a UK telecoms company as well as coordinating a complete ‘e-based’ utility service from bill validation to authorisation and payment for one multinational frozen food retailer.
|Shaun Spencer, Energy Accounts Office at London Borough of Hackney|
Shaun joined the London Borough of Hackney as their Energy Managements Technical Administrator in 2006, having spent time in Customer Services at Southwark Council.
Shaun successfully recovered considerable sums through interrogating billing on the Gas & Electric contracts prior to the move to the TEAM Bureau.
His current responsibilities at LB Hackney, reporting to the energy manager as part of a ‘Shared Service’ team, includes managing the Council’s own estate (Council offices, municipal buildings, communal areas in housing & street lighting) energy and water billing. Shaun currently manages the Corporate water supplies and has consolidated all corporate water metered accounts successfully. Working with TEAM, he is project managing the effective migration from a manual water billing process to an automated electronic processing system via TEAM Sigma.
Shaun joined the London Boroughs Energy Group (LBEG) Committee in 2017. He is particularly keen for the group to reach out to other public sector colleagues to share knowledge and best practice. Shaun is also heavily involved in the employees Badminton Club that meet socially as well as being healthy.
|Simon Chubb, Environment Manager at Anglia Ruskin University|
Simon is a Chartered Environmentalist with over 20 years’ experience working in the UK and Uganda in the public, private, charity and education sectors. He leads Anglia Ruskin University’s Environment Team responsible for the Environmental Policy, Strategy and Carbon Management Plan; manages an ISO 14001 certified environmental management system, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and embedding within day-to-day operations; manages flexible energy supply contracts (>£2 million); energy compliance (CRC, ESOS, EPBD,CHPQA); energy & water management (M&T); project identification & business case development; behaviour change programmes; travel plan development & management; biodiversity assessment and action planning.
|Graham Paul, Service Delivery Director at TEAM Energy|
Graham maintains a balance of customer-facing delivery work and internal business operational management. Graham is responsible for TEAM’s infrastructure and service delivery, overseeing system administration and customer support, and has a cross-functional role in sales, pre-sales, alliances and marketing. He is TEAM’s customer advocate throughout all aspects of the customer lifecycle.
Prior to joining EDW Technology Graham worked for electricity4business as its Sales and Marketing Director and before that Graham worked at Centrica in its B2B division. His roles included acting as Programme Director of the Centrica B2B transformation project, replacing all existing B2B systems with an integrated end-to-end solution.
Previously Graham was at Electricity Direct where he was the Director responsible for Marketing and IS Solutions. Graham helped steer Electricity Direct from a privately owned start-up business in 1999, to a company with an annual turnover of in excess of £200m in less than 3 years and finally to the acquisition of Electricity Direct in 2002 by Centrica for £62m.
