When it comes to climate change, we are all on the same team
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time. The effects on people and the environment are global, impacting everything from population health to biodiversity, causing irreparable damage to our planet.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has warned that across Europe as global warming increases above our current level of 1.1°C, we will see increases in peak temperatures and significant drought, beyond what we have experienced. As well as flooding and sea levels rising, all to the significant detriment of both humans and wildlife.
To prevent some of the most serious effects of climate change global greenhouse gas emissions will need to be reduced by 43% by 2030. In order for the global temperature to stablise, we have to achieve net zero carbon emissions before 2050.
To accomplish this, we all need to do our part to reduce our impact on the planet. This is where you and your organisation come in. We cannot stop global warming overnight, but together we can take action before it is too late.
Let's make change happen
We believe that people power can change the world, and together we can make a difference. With mounting pressure on organisations to reduce their carbon emissions, and the solutions to do so varying from new technology and innovative digital solutions, to carbon reduction strategy planning and Science-Based Targets, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed with knowing where to start and what to do next.
We understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to carbon reduction, and that everyone’s journey will look different. We are here to help you find the right path for your organisation.
Our Net Zero commitment
We passionately believe that reducing carbon emissions to limit global warming should be a priority for all – individuals and businesses alike. We are proud that our energy consultancy team has been helping our customers reduce carbon emissions for many years, even before the net-zero term became so widely used. As a pioneer in this field, we believe it is important to lead by example with a carbon reduction strategy which delivers our commitment to be net zero by 2030.
As an employee-owned business, we know that many of the people who work for us do so because they believe in our environmental values and recognise that we can make a real difference to carbon emissions in the UK. Indeed, we believe that we should aim to beat the Government’s 2050 net-zero target. By setting an example, we hope to encourage businesses throughout the UK to set more ambitions carbon reduction targets, which is increasingly expected by their customers, employees, and shareholders.
We have set out to become Carbon Neutral by 2023 and achieve Net Zero business emissions by 2030.
The truth about carbon offset
What do you think of when you hear the term carbon offsetting? Greenwashing? That it is for organisations that don’t want to invest in net zero? Perhaps you have invested in carbon offset schemes before that didn’t make the difference you had hoped.
Let’s face it, carbon offsetting gets a bad rap, but believe it or not, it does have a place in achieving net zero.
Many organisations, just like us, are on a journey to net zero, which depending on your goals could be as far away as 2050. To help you in mitigating the impact of your carbon emissions in that time, you can choose to offset them through verified projects that actually make a difference and support climate resilience. In offsetting your emissions as part of a net zero strategy you can certify your Carbon Neutral status.
There are other benefits too; in fact carbon offsetting can better help you understand your organisation’s carbon emissions and the scale of their impact, as well as demonstrate you are committed to achieving your long-term sustainable development goals.
