TEAM customer Northern Rail was named the winner of the Sustainability Award at the 2014 North of England Excellence Awards, presented on 13th November at The Royal Armouries in Leeds. The Excellence Awards recognise organisations that achieve and maintain superior performance. The Sustainability category acknowledges organisations striving for economic, social and ecological sustainability.
Northern Rail aims “to be recognised as the train operating company making the most positive contribution to environmental sustainability.” Accredited to ISO 50001 standard the company has been using TEAM’s Sigma Software since 2011 to manage utility bills, monitor energy consumption, create targets and ensure they meet overall energy saving objectives across the whole company.
Northern Rail is the largest train operator in the UK, managing 463 stations, providing over 2,500 local and regional train services every weekday, and serving almost 15 million people in the UK.
