Unlock smarter energy savings with Time of Use tariffs
Once the MHHS programme is fully implemented, suppliers will be able to offer tariffs that reward organisations for shifting consumption to off-peak periods. These Time-of-Use (ToU) tariffs offer lower rates during off-peak hours, enabling organisations to shift their energy usage to these times and achieve significant cost savings. For example, organisations can save up to 20% on their electricity bills by optimising their usage patterns.
How to use the calculator:
- Enter Peak Estimated Usage (kWh)
The amount of electricity used during peak hours (typically weekdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) - Enter Off-Peak Estimated Usage (kWh)
The amount of electricity used during off-peak hours (typically 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and weekends) - Enter Your Flat Rate (£/kWh)
This is your current electricity rate, regardless of time of use. - Click “Calculate Savings”
The calculator will:
o Estimate your peak and off-peak rates
o Calculate your ToU and flat-rate costs
o Show your estimated saving
By leveraging this tool, organisations can understand the objectives of the MHHS programme and the role of ToU tariffs could be used to support future initiatives for organisations aiming to optimise their energy consumption and costs.
