Ahead of the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference, COP 27, with expectations that agreements and pledges made are translated into action, we’ve been asking our Energy Consultants to share their hopes for the event.
Here are some thoughts from Senior Energy Consultant, Helder Galrinho.
My hope for this year’s UN Climate Change conference, is that important decisions will be taken for global decarbonisation, based on policies that promote energy efficiency, carbon capture, energy storage, energy production through renewable sources, and the efficient use of renewable energy.
Additionally, I hope that the production of green hydrogen and the development of new technologies for the use of hydrogen will be discussed and assumed as a priority.
Sustainable cities, green buildings, sustainable transport, waste management and strong policies to phase out the use of fossil fuels are all part of the energy transition process. I would like to see credible talks at COP27 to obtain a global commitment from all stakeholders and governments to facilitate energy transition that is necessary to tackle climate change.
