ESOS Phase 3 upcoming deadline
If you are required to comply with the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) the deadline to submit your notification is the 5 June 2024.
However, the Environment Agency will not take action against organisations that do not comply with this deadline, providing they register their account with the new IT system by 5 June 2024, and submit their notification of compliance by 6 August 2024. The regulatory enforcement extension period will end after 6 August 2024.

TEAM to install new EV charging stations at their Milton Keynes office
We have recently installed 10 EV charging stations at our Milton Keynes office to enable employees to charge their electric vehicles. This exciting initiative is in line with our electric vehicle employee salary sacrifice scheme in partnership with Octopus Energy, which makes the transition to greener commuting more accessible to our employees.
These initiatives are to support our Carbon Reduction Strategy and to help our employees and business reduce the impact we have on the planet.

TEAM Energy joins SME Climate Hub to pledge its commitment to becoming net zero
Along with thousands of other businesses who are tackling climate change we have joined the SME Climate Hub.
By joining the Hub, we have pledged to achieve net zero emissions along with many other businesses across 120 countries. The official pledge is to halve its emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050. However, with our Carbon Reduction Strategy we have set out to become net zero by 2030.
Along with our Net Zero Strategy, joining this community will demonstrate to other businesses and customers our commitment to reducing our impact on the environment through authentic action.

Throughout April, we saw an increase in wind generation as we experienced more blustery days, reducing the requirement for more expensive gas-fired assets to meet domestic demand. With a wetter and colder April than many would like, gas rose by 6% due to below average temperatures.

National Gas has published its 2024 Summer Outlook
National Gas published its Summer Outlook for 2024. It states that forecasted summer demand for gas is expected to reduce overall compared to last year, this is largely due to the expectation of reduced exports to continental Europe, as well as lower demand for gas and power generation.

UK Energy Trends
UK energy production in 2023 fell 9% to the lowest level since records began in 1948, according to new figures. The latest Government statistics reveal the total was also down 36% in 2010, and 66% in 1999 when UK production peaked.

Energy minister, Graham Stuart, has stood down from his role in the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNEZ) to focus on local issues, he has been replaced by MP Justin Tomlinson.
March 2024 marks the tenth hottest month on record
According to research by The Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), March 2024 was globally warmer than any other previous March on record, with an average surface air temperature of 14.14C. This is the tenth month in a row that has been the warmest on record, with the global average temperature for the past twelve months the highest on record.

Boost for drivers as millions delivered for EV chargepoints across the country
The UK Government is delivering £381 million Local Electric Vehicle funding to councils, which can choose where is best to install EV charge points in their local areas. Since the launch of this, 44 councils have had payments worth over £185 million to help residents charge their electric vehicles.
