As businesses advance their net zero plans, one thing is becoming clear, it is their workforce that distinguishes the frontrunners. Whether you are responsible for energy, sustainability, HR, or organisational strategy, your people are the engine that will drive meaningful change.

Sam Arje, Senior Energy Consultant and EnCO Practitioner, explains why empowering employees through energy efficiency training is one of the most effective ways for businesses to reduce consumption, cut emissions, and build long-term resilience.

ESOS Phase 4 Turns Audits into Action

ESOS Phase 4 marks a significant shift from simply identifying savings to ensuring organisations take meaningful action.

For businesses serious about efficiency, resilience and sustainability, Phase 4 offers more than a compliance obligation. It provides a structured, data‑driven framework for long‑term improvement and a valuable catalyst for organisational change.

Roadmap for Business Leaders: How to Lead the Net Zero Revolution

The race to net zero is no longer a distant aspiration or something that only affects large global organisations. It’s an essential transformation that will shape the future of your business.

To lead the net zero revolution, leaders must establish a clear, structured, and forward‑thinking business sustainability plan supported by data‑driven decision-making and actionable milestones.

Here’s a practical six stage roadmap to get started.

Scope 1, 2 and 3 Emissions Explained

The term Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) is used to describe the gases that are emitted into the air by various sources, trapping heat into the earth’s atmosphere. Delaying hydrogen funding leaves thousands of jobs at risk, industry tells DESNZ

More solar farms on the way after record renewables auction

More solar farms are on the way around the UK, in a move that boosts the country’s clean power goals but could spark anger from local opponents.

The government awarded contracts to a record supply of renewables projects, including 157 solar developments across England, Scotland and Wales.

The results have been welcomed by climate and clean energy groups, who see solar as a relatively cheap way to reduce the UK’s reliance on fossil fuels during the summer months.

Chris Stark: The economics of clean energy ‘just get better and better’

The economics of clean energy “just get better and better”, leaving opponents of the transition looking like “King Canute”, says Chris Stark. Stark is head of the UK government’s “mission” to deliver clean power by 2030, having previously been chief executive of the advisory Climate Change Committee (CCC).

In an interview with Carbon Brief, Stark makes the case for the “radical” clean-power mission, which he says will act as “huge insurance” against future gas-price spikes.
